Lifelong Learning

I have always enjoyed learning and connecting others with the information they seek, in any capacity. I believe in the interconnected nature of the written word and fine art, that the right book at the right time can be life-changing, and that there is a book for everyone.

My passion for literature, fine arts, and books arts converged into two undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Studio Arts from the University of South Florida. Building off this foundation, I attended the University of Edinburgh and completed a graduate degree in History of Art, Theory and Display.

I moved into the service industry for nearly ten years, but continued to volunteer with non-profit arts organizations and advocate for the importance of reading, both as a means of education and of joy.

I had the pleasure of working at Books & Books @ the Studios of Key West and was able to make my passion for books a full-time job. I absolutely loved bookselling and learning more about the publishing industry as a whole. An opportunity presented itself at the Key West Public Library, part of the Monroe County Public Library (MCPL) system.

I applied for USF’s MLIS program even in the midst of the interview process with MCPL. I promised myself that if I was accepted to the program, I would accept the position at the Key West Library.
